August 2010- Talbott Vineyards is pleased to announce its use of the eco-friendly Evolution glass bottle for all of its Talbott Kali Hart and Talbott Logan wines. Produced domestically in Washington State by Saint-Gobain Containers as part of its ECO Series line, the Evolution is a state-of-the-art, ultra-light 750 ml wine bottle. In keeping with Talbott Vineyards’ commitment to sustainable farming, winemaking and business practices, these bottles, which are largely manufactured using recycled materials, benefit the environment in many ways: less raw materials are used to produce the bottles, CO2 is reduced during production by 25 percent, and domestic production further decreases energy consumption during shipping to the winery by an additional 25 percent. Most significantly, a standard truckload of Talbott Vineyards, Kali Hart wines will weigh approximately 5,500 lbs. less, dramatically reducing the gas and carbon footprint of shipping the wine.
