91 Points 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Cuvée Sarah Case
“Saturated red. An exotic, oak-spiced bouquet displays scents of candied red berries and cherry-cola, with complicating notes of rose oil and mocha. Palate-coating raspberry and cherry compote flavors pick up a peppery quality in the mid-palate, along with a touch of candied flowers. In a rich, powerful style, with strong finishing punch and persistent sweetness.” Josh Raynolds International Wine Cellar - Click here

“Bright ruby. Exotic, oak-spiced aromas of black raspberry, cola and potpourri, with a smoky overtone. Lush, pliant red and dark berry compote flavors provide impressive palate coverage and pick up exotic floral pastille and spice cake character with air. A big, plush rendition of pinot, finishing with impressive breadth and sweet persistence.” Josh Raynolds International Wine Cellar - Click here
90 Points 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Cuvée RFT
“From a vineyard on top of a 1,200-foot mountain, this Pinot entices with root beer spice, cherry fruit and a dried meat note. It's surprisingly European in its spiciness and savoriness.” Blake Gray Wine Review Online - Click here
90 Points 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Cuvée Sarah Case
“Strong in fruit and acidity, this Pinot Noir swamps the palate with gigantic flavors of raspberries and cherries that taste like they were baked into a pie. That includes the pie crust, with it’s spicy, vanilla smokiness. It’s all a bit in your face, but it’s flashy.” Steve Heimoff Wine Enthusiast - Click here
Wine of the Week 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Cuvée Sarah Case
" Full-Bodied and Mouth-Filling" “Robert Talbott is considered a bit of a trailblazer in California’s Monterey County. After visiting Burgundy, he was determined to produce terroir-driven wines on the Central Coast, planting his vines in areas that others deemed unsuitable. His persistence established one of Central California’s most prestigious wineries, recognized around the world for its Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. The Cuvée Sarah Case Pinot has become a flagship for the winery (along with the critically acclaimed Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay). A deep, rich claret color gives the first hints of the Pinot’s body and richness. On the nose it offers blackberry, black cherry and a touch of mint, cocoa and pepper. Delightfully mouth-filling, this full-bodied wine offers flavors of tart cherries and plums with exotic spice notes on the finish. The wine is one that could benefit from a few years aging, but if you're ready to drink it now, try it with classic dishes like boeuf bourguignon or a cheese soufflé. It will also pair nicely with salmon tartare, seared duck breast or a simple plate of summer fruits with artisan cheeses.” - Gayot.com - Click here
2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Cuvée Sarah Case
“Named in honor of Robert Talbott’s eldest daughter Sarah Case Talbott. This is the inaugural release of this Pinot Noir from the Sleepy Hollow Vineyard. Two Dijon clones from prized blocks of 10 to 15-year-old vines. Aged 12 months in 100% new French oak barrels and bottle aged for an additional 6 months. Deep, dark reddish-purple color in the glass. Unusual but nuanced aromatics showing scents of dark chocolate, soy, cut flowers and lacquered wood. Moderately rich core of plum and cassis flavors pushing ripeness, robed in firm but caressing tannins, and displaying some persistence on the finish that leaves a little heat in its wake.” Rusty Gaffney PinotFile
