93 Points 2008 Talbott Chardonnay, Sleepy Hollow Vineyard

“Year after year, this continues to be one of the most outstanding Chardonnays in California. When I recently tasted the 2008 it seemed particularly, and enticingly, floral. I found myself fantasizing over my glass that if you could put all your favorite fragrant flowers into a blender and then magically distill the essence of their mingled perfume, the result would be the enchanting aromatics of this Sleepy Hollow Chard. But the intense bouquet is just the beginning. There is also the voluptuous body, and the rich flavors which capture the fundamental nature of peaches and nectarines, pears, nuts, lemon peel. And then, despite so much richness on the palate, the wine finishes clean and very dry.” Marguerite Thomas Wine Review Online - Click here

Wine of the Week 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Cuvée Sarah Case

" Full-Bodied and Mouth-Filling" “Robert Talbott is considered a bit of a trailblazer in California’s Monterey County. After visiting Burgundy, he was determined to produce terroir-driven wines on the Central Coast, planting his vines in areas that others deemed unsuitable. His persistence established one of Central California’s most prestigious wineries, recognized around the world for its Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. The Cuvée Sarah Case Pinot has become a flagship for the winery (along with the critically acclaimed Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay). A deep, rich claret color gives the first hints of the Pinot’s body and richness. On the nose it offers blackberry, black cherry and a touch of mint, cocoa and pepper. Delightfully mouth-filling, this full-bodied wine offers flavors of tart cherries and plums with exotic spice notes on the finish. The wine is one that could benefit from a few years aging, but if you're ready to drink it now, try it with classic dishes like boeuf bourguignon or a cheese soufflé. It will also pair nicely with salmon tartare, seared duck breast or a simple plate of summer fruits with artisan cheeses.” - Gayot.com - Click here

"For the Fans of the Ripe Style of Pinot Noir" 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Logan

“Deeply colored. The cherry fruits have a very ripe, roasted quality adding scents of plum pudding, berry jam and marzipan. The overripe fruit core is clothed in soft tannins making for a velvety mouth feel. I suspect the Brix was high at harvest and the wine was apparently not watered back. For fans of the ripe style of Pinot Noir.” Rusty Gaffney Pinotfile

2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Cuvée Sarah Case

“Named in honor of Robert Talbott’s eldest daughter Sarah Case Talbott. This is the inaugural release of this Pinot Noir from the Sleepy Hollow Vineyard. Two Dijon clones from prized blocks of 10 to 15-year-old vines. Aged 12 months in 100% new French oak barrels and bottle aged for an additional 6 months. Deep, dark reddish-purple color in the glass. Unusual but nuanced aromatics showing scents of dark chocolate, soy, cut flowers and lacquered wood. Moderately rich core of plum and cassis flavors pushing ripeness, robed in firm but caressing tannins, and displaying some persistence on the finish that leaves a little heat in its wake.” Rusty Gaffney PinotFile

"Palate-Pleaser With a Fairly Rich Body.” 2007 Talbott Chardonnay Sleepy Hollow Vineyard

“But for those who crave a fat, mouth-filling style of Chardonnay, this wine from Monterey County’s Talbott Vineyards will do you right at a good price. The nose is full of apple and pear, and thankfully, it’s light on the butter-bomb aromatics. Flavors of tropical fruit and a hint of minerality make this an easy palate-pleaser with a fairly rich body.” - Chris Macias Sacramento Bee - Click here

91 Points 2008 Talbott Chardonnay, Kali Hart

“Made by Robert Talbott Vineyards, this wine was named for Robb Talbott’s youngest daughter. Though Talbott makes pricier Chards than this one, the Kali Hart is my favorite, because it’s consistently well made and well priced. It has aromas of bright tropical fruit and pineapple, along with melon and tropical fruit flavors. It has zippy acidity and minimal oak character.” Tina Caputo Wine Review Online - Click here

“Super ripe and rich in tropical fruit, pineapple, kiwi and golden mango flavors, with additional notes of buttered toast and caramel. Fortunately, crisp Monterey acidity provides a brisk, clean finish.” Steve Heimoff Wine Enthusiast - Click here

"A Bright Pinot Noir" 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Logan

“A bright Pinot Noir, with a bold accent of minerals, its nose offers aromas of black cherry and plum along with notes of hickory smoked bacon. The cherry and plum return on the palate and move into notes of cola with hints of cinnamon. The wine finishes with the zest of minerals. Those who enjoy a Pinot with pzazz over silky smooth ought to give this bottle a try.” Jason Barlow Food & Beverage World - Click here
